Long-distance move from Bakersfield, CA to Hayden, ID

Stole My Deposit of $4900.

Om August 3rd 2017 I contracted with United Movers Group to move my household good from Bakersfield to Hayden Idaho.

As aa uninformed fool, I gave them depositof$4900.

I cancelled the request per their cancellation Policy on August 19th 2017

I requested the refund of my deposit. They claimed to have sent a refund check in October 2017. I never received the check. They then claimed to have sent a check in November 2017. I never received the check.

After several phone calls I was turned over to this thug named WALTER the manager. He said "boy that's a big hunk of change." He said "I will get it returned" I have never received any refund of proof that they ever sent a check.

I called again and this thug Walter said " I think your trying to commit fraud!" He said they would not send another check even though he had no record of it being cashed and he stopped payment.

These people are fraudulent liars, bully's and thieves and crooks. There appears there is no recourse to recover the money. DOT FBI will not look into this theft.

I repeat, these are BAD BAD crooks that steal from you and you have NO recourse.

They place phony reviews as to how great. Read any asthenic reviews and you will find nothing but nightmares.

BEWARE< BEWARE< BEWARE.

Stay away!!

DONT USE THIS COMPANY!

This company is by far the absolute worst company I've ever dealt with!! [EDIT] From the beginning it was nothing but lies and not being able to get ahold of anyone for days! We were moving cross country and these people failed to show up to get our stuff not once, not twice, but three times!

[NAME EDIT] lied about everything except his name! My husband had asked him about pricing and [NAME EDIT] gave him a price and at a later time my husband was discussing prices with [NAME EDIT] and [NAME EDIT] said he would give me husband a discount because of our delay in pickup for nearly two weeks. It turns out [NAME EDIT] reduced the amount of cubic feet we had originally discussed so once the furniture was picked up we unexpected owed them so much more! My husband talked to a guy named [NAME EDIT] in customer service because my husband asked why all of a sudden he couldn't use a credit card, but instead had to use cash. [NAME EDIT] couldn't give him an answer. What kind of people treat their customers like that?

Not only was that a week and a half of calling countless times trying to talk to anyone about our move but so many things showed up broken with boxes torn almost completely in half!

It was so sad! Not only was most of our furniture dinged and broken but some items that were irreplaceable were broken! My husbands desk was completely broken the drawers were hanging off, a TV that was over 2,000 was missing a cord, we bought the cord, and it still didn't work so it must've been dropped. Our wedding DVD was somehow snapped in half even tho it had been in a case. To name a few cake plates, dishes, floor lamps, and mugs were broken.

We called to complain about the horrible service and were routed to a woman named [NAME EDIT]. She was trying to act helpful but it was all a show! We said how [NAME EDIT] had treated us and lied to us on numerous occasions and she said "oh he's already been let go." She kept trying to tell my husband she would send us a $100 check to take our reviews down and when he refused she hung up on him. He called back and [NAME EDIT] answered the phone! When my husband confronted him saying [NAME EDIT] said she fired you, he said no why would I get fired? So she lied about everything. She kept asking for names saying she was going to have to let people go and it was all a show!! She [EDIT] was never trying to help us, she was only trying to get the reviews removed.

[NAME EDIT] who is apparently the GM [EDIT] my husband out because we made reviews on social media and BBB! Jorge told him to [EDIT] and so many other vulgar things because my husband refused to take down the reviews.

DONT USE THIS COMPANY! WE WANT TO WARN OTHER CONSUMERS! You're better off getting a UHAUL and moving yourself!

Hello Megan,

We are so sorry for what you have gone through. Unfortunately we did not service your move. Please provide us with a Bill of Lading with proof that you did business with us. We explained this to your husband Mr. Antonio Malik that we never serviced this move, yes you did receive a quote from us but you were picked up by another company that is not affiliated with us. Please understand we cannot help you because we did not do business with you. Slandering our name with other customers isn't going to help you and your family find the justice you deserve. We wish you the best of luck.

Long-distance move from Minot, ND to Tamarack, MN

So blessed to have them move me.

Hi this is Pastor David Muldoon. I was blessed enough to have United Movers Group move my family and I to Florida. I was referred by another church who United Movers relocated years ago. They came to my house and did an estimate. I felt very comfortable with the estimator who happened to be our foreman for our move because he was a devout Christian man himself. I don't know how to pack up a house so I wanted the movers to do it. I really would have paid them double as long as I knew nothing would break. Kevin who was the foreman assured me that if they packed it, nothing will break. He also said if anything breaks its usually because the people moving pack it. They came the day before because we are a family of 6. They packed everything and disassembled the big stuff. The next day they were at my house bright and early. I was surprised at how much space they said they didn't use and how much less I would be paying on delivery. You can tell these guys walk in our saviors footsteps. They came exactly when they said they would for delivery and everything was good as new. They made this so easy for my family and for that I thank you.

Great job.

My mom and I loved these guys! They were on time and delivered our furniture without an issue. They were professional and knew how to handle our belongings. We would recommend to anyone looking for a moving company or even just needing to have your furniture delivered to your home! None of our things got there late, or were broken like you all fear when moving. We love it!

Long-distance move from Denver, CO to Lake Mary, FL

The best..at fooling you.

I had the worst experiance with them. The sales person, [NAME EDIT] clark, said everything to get me to book with them for my move from Denver to Lake Mary,Florida. And the last I heard from her was the day when I had to make a payment for the booking.
She went through the inventory with me and gave me an estimate of 2200.This included a box count of 30 (medium size) and other furniture items.I have an email confirming that the quote included a 30% over the required cost of everything in the inventory list.
What surprised me was how I ended up paying 1000$ over the initial quote when my box count was 25(less than the inventory list).

[NAME EDIT] stopped attending my calls since the pick up date.Seemed like a well calculated plan cause there was no one I could speak to regarding the over payment.Other people in the office kept passing the ball saying [NAME EDIT] was incharge and only she could answer how the space/price went up inspite of having lesser boxes.
This lady shares her personal phone number but doesn't attend to your calls once you get trapped.I called her using other numbers, which she picked, and then excused herself by saying she would speak with her manager and get back to me.She never did call back.

The worst part was that they give you no information regarding the delivery date. The delivery date was supposed to be on 16th May 2017 but I received my stuff no sooner than 28th May 2017.I moved with my baby from denver to lake Mary and this long wait for my house goods made everyday a real struggle.I had to call them everyday to check on the status.I even spoke to the floor manager(atleast that's what he claimed to be - [NAME EDIT]) but that didn't help either.
It was after making nearly ten calls that they informed me it would take 2-3 weeks for the delivery.Apparently the delivery date is based on the miles and for my move ot would take 2-3 weeks.
Had I been informed about the possible delay I wouldn't have booked with them at all.
In their defense they have mentioned it in the contract in fine print ( which is written like a hidden mystery on teh contract that only their employees can find out).
This contract was not even sent to us by [NAME EDIT].But hey how could I ask anyone about the unfair practice when no one picks the call.
The final blow came when the delivery truck size was said to be a full trailer that I doubt can be parked inside any apartment complex.
The truck that came for the pick up was a smaller size while the one for delivery was a 50 feet trailer.
End result I had to pay additional 400$ for them to transfer my stuff onto a uhaul so they could enter the apartment and make the delivery.
Frustrated by the whole customer experience, extra pay and extra delay, I just paid so I could just put an end to the whole thing.
Also I had no option cause the customer care sucks.[NAME EDIT] doesn't pick her phone. The manager does nothing.
All in all I had the worst experience with them.

Save your self from the horrible experience and find some one else.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $3000

Official company response

Hello Swetha,

Thank you for your feedback.

1. I see that you are claiming you had 25 boxes, yet you signed off on a bill of lading that had 30 boxes on it. I don't really understand, we gave you the option to move at estimate but you refused because you wanted to take all of your belongings, somehow you thought we would move all of your extra belongings for free so you decided to write a negative review. It is your responsibility to read the Bill of Lading (BOL) before you sign it.

2. The Sales Department is really busy helping other people with their moves, we gave you the Customer service and Dispatch ext. for you to use after your pick up. You spoke to multiple people, you also have received multiple emails with the correct contact information. You decided not to use it.

3. The rules of the road are not set by us, they are set by the Department of Transportation (DOT). Every Moving company has up to 21 business days to deliver your goods. Going with another moving company was not going to change this. In fact, if you would of chose another moving company at the time of pick-up, you would of had to wait until they arrived, further delaying your delivery date.

4. One of the first things that we ask customers when they tell us where they want to be picked up or delivered is "What size truck is allowed on premises?" or "Do you need to reserve an elevator?" On a recorded call, you said you were sure they allowed any size truck, when the driver got there, the association told them they were not allowed inside. The driver had to take the time to find a truck that could accommodate your association's requirements and that took time away from other clients. Please understand the shuttle fee is usually included in the estimate, when we are provided the correct information, prior to booking. We are not in the business of intentionally misleading you to believe that shuttles are something we just add on to make extra money, this is a third party cost that derived from the assumption you made regarding your association's requirements, rather than obtaining the facts.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Long-distance move from California to Washington

Great overall company.

I did a lot of shopping for this move and when I first submitted my number online I might have received about 100 calls. I only entertained about 5 different prices and they were all over the board I had some companies quote me as low as 3k and some as high as 10k. United was not the cheapest but I was sold on the customer service aspect and they honored everything they told me. This was my first out of state move so I was nervous from reading things online but my agent answered all my questions and was very thorough about how this whole process was going to work. Before my move day they even called me to make sure I did not forgot anything and I was missing a thing or two but we were able to add those furniture pieces with no problem. The movers showed up on the first day of our window and they got straight down to business. I even offered to buy them lunch and they denied and said they just wanted to get this job done so I could start heading out. They wrapped all my furniture so professional and loaded everything very tight on the truck and I actually ended up getting money taken off the balance of my price. The transit time was less then I expected as well and when they came to drop everything off it was the same crew from pick up and they were able to finish the job so that I was able to sit down and have a nice dinner with my family in our new home. Overall this was by far a great experience and I can not thank United Movers enough for helping me and my family. They were a pleasure to work with and if we ever have to move again which hopefully this will be our last big move I would most certainly use this company.

Long-distance move from Durango, CO to Austin, TX

They destroy your property! I'm not joking!!

We will be pursuing litigation against United Movers Group. We moved from Durango, CO to Austin, TX on 4/7/17. After numerous phone calls to them because our stuff wasn't arriving, it finally came today, 5/6/17. And what did we find? Our king sized mattress was soaking wet [EDIT]. I don't think anyone has destroyed my property in such a disgusting manner in my life. My husband's bike is also broken, and the microwave is smooshed in. There may be other damage, that's just what we've seen so far.

Other highlights: their respective trucks broke down a total of four times during our move. They did not provide a bill of lading upon arrival in Durango. They raised their prices when the cubic feet was more than expected. They tried to coerce me for a tip, and I'm so glad I didn't! They advertise they will be there in 14 days, but obviously it was much longer.

Do not use. I'm begging you do not.

Awful Company.

This company promised us several things and have delivered on NONE of them. Their customer service staff, managers, and supposedly a general manager have all been the most disrespectful, condescending and downright dirty people I've ever dealt with. I will never do business with this company again, and HIGHLY urge anyone considering them to look elsewhere. 0/5 STARS.

Long-distance move from Eaton, OH to Fort Worth, TX

United Movers Group.

I hired United Movers Group to help with my move from Ohio to Texas. I was really nervous about utilizing a moving company, however I had a good experience with this company. I was quoted a price over the phone, the only thing I would suggest to future customers, is to have the measurements of larger furniture and boxes. The movers came when they were supposed to pick up and used moving blankets for all my items and supplied mattress and box spring covers for free. My items arrived at my new home on time and in great condition. The crew who unpacked me was amazing! His name was Julio and he was one of the sweetest men I have ever met. Adam was my sales rep and he answered all my questions in a timely manner and Cynthia in customer service was really helpful leading up to my move date and move-in date.

Amazing Movers.

United Movers Grouo is an exceptional moving company because all the movers here are really good! The movers were very humble and honest during the whole process. They were very thorough about details and quoted the amount which was the exact amount I ended up paying. They also kept a very positive attitude about the weight or number of items to be moved. They were on time and accomplished quicker than I had expected. Not a single item was damaged or broken! I hope to never move again but if I have to, I will hire them. Thanks to the movers for making this process bearable and stressfree!

After recently graduating from grad school, I decided to relocate in acceptance of a job opportunity in warmer weather. A family friend who currently lives in Florida put me in contact with United Movers Group as he used United for his interstate move. I'm thankful for United Movers Group for providing me with a successful and stress-free first step of a major transition in my life! This was my first move, and a big one nonetheless. Long-distance move from Colorado to Washington

I feel like I got scammed.

They required an upfront payment of a third of the entire cost of the move to lock us into the deal.
They ensured us that packing materials and labor would be provided free of charge. The day they arrived, they gave us a second estimate of about double the original estimate price, after we were already locked into the deal.
We called and asked for a refund and were refused. We decided to have them take exactly what was contractually agreed upon, since apparently we had to pay either way, and we ended up having to pay additionally to take out a trailer with the rest of our stuff as well.
After loading the exact 20 boxes we had agreed upon, they tried to charge me an additional 100+ dollars because the boxes were, ‘larger than the estimated size’, so I asked them to remove enough boxes to hit the contractual amount we agreed on. Then, they charged me 50+ dollars for an additional cost of plastic wrap, which they had used without my consent (though we were previously told that packing materials were free).
Instead of allowing us to pay online or by phone, they emailed us shady wire transfer instructions, which made it impossible to receive proof of payment through them, and annoying to prove by keeping proof of wire transfer receipts from the bank. During transit of my items, we called multiple times to try to confirm that they had received our payments, but the calls were not answered, and we received no reply.
Then the delivering driver had an accident and crushed half of our boxes, 3 of which had fragile (and now broken) items in them. My $2000 custom sectional couches were covered with blankets that came out of the truck in tatters. A chair was broken, and I’m still unsure as to whether or not my TV was damaged in the incident.
The driver could not finish the delivery until the company acknowledged that they had received payment. He called them, waited an hour and a half for them to respond. When they finally did
respond, they were adamant that they had not received payment until we presented the driver with a bank receipt proving that we had transferred the rest of the money.
Had we not gone out of our way to print a confirmation of wire transfer, they could have denied receiving it and withheld our furniture and boxes indefinitely.
List of damages:
Couch is scraped in two spots, and one of the caps for a leg is broken.
Broken dishes and glasses from multiple boxes
Three boxes were smashed with our personal items sticking out of it.

Feeling amazed.

United Movers Group sent three movers and a moving truck. The lead mover communicated promptly and convincingly. We have lots of stuff, but it took the guys less than three hours to get everything from the storage unit and into the truck. They were very industrious and careful. Upon arrival, they put all the boxes in a room without hitting the walls. I liked their friendliness and charm, as it made things a lot easier. They did not overcharge me, and I would recommend them to everybody I know.

I hired another company for the move from Chicago, IL to Frankfort, KY. But the movers were no show. I was in such a pickle and had to quickly organize another set of movers. I called so many moving companies but no one could accommodate me in such a short notice. Luckily, United Movers Group had a late afternoon slot vacant and I took it. The movers arrived sharp at 5 pm and got to work. They worked tirelessly for 3 hours packing and loading all my stuffs. I understand that they had more appointments before me but they didn’t seem tired at all. The men were very professional and they did the job very efficiently. I wonder what I would have done had they not helped out. I am forever grateful to this company.

Professional in every way.

There is no way to expect that good things will come at a cheap price. However, this is a wrong philosophy when it comes to these expert movers. You can start to believe in something else because the company ensures that you get the best service that are completed on the right time but you will not be charged more for it. This is the second time I used United movers group because I was happy wuth them last time. Outstanding.

I couldn't have made a better choice. I put my number on line for quotes on my move and must have got a 1000 calls it seems like. Overwhelming actually. But all in all I made my decision not based on price but on presentation. I was comfortable with my representative Michael. I wasn't so sure about the company because of what other companies were saying about them. But Michaels reassurance convinced me. The contract was easy to understand and I've heard of them before unlike most of these other companies. Needless to say the movers showed up I wasn't charged more money like every other company told I would be if I went them and the managing gentleman was very nice and professional and walked over everything with me while the other guys loaded. When I received my stuff nothing was broken and it didn't take a month like I was scared it was once again because of what everyone else had said. All I can say is that so many companies bashed united and I didn't like it. I am grateful for Michael and happy with my choice. Don't listen to the degrading companies out there just move with United and everything will be fine. Trust me.

HORRIBLE Experience--Bait and switch pricing! Do not use them!

BEWARE--DO NOT USE THEM!! I would give them a ZERO if I could!! WORST moving experience ever. They wanted to charge a 20% down payment to reserve the move--Thank goodness I'd researched sites that said to avoid this and settled for $100 deposit. The movers showed up and quoted a price that was 50% HIGHER than the original bid.

In planning our move, I had several conversations with Frank. I even sent him to the realtor's website for the home we are moving from so that he could get an accurate list of the items we were moving. Because we hadn't finished packing when we discussed pricing, we didn't have a full list of inventory. When the movers showed up, they quoted us a rate that was 50% more than the original bid. Also wanted to up-charge us for things like wrapping a hutch and packaging other items that were clearly discussed prior to the bid.

This is my first Yelp review, but I felt so compelled by this utter lack of customer service and bait-and-switch pricing that I felt I needed to let others know. Do not be fooled by "good" reviews on other sites and with the BBB. DO NOT USE THEM!!

Service cost: $6000

Official company response

Hello Lowell,

We are terribly sorry you feel this way about your experience with us.

The reason why the price was higher at pick-up is because you had more items than your original estimate. We asked you if you still wanted to move at estimate and you refused and agreed to move all of you belongings instead. As you know you e-signed the estimate knowing there were items missing on the inventory list. As a company that values our customers, we believe in giving you the option to refuse service upon pick-up. We always charge for wrapping and packing because this is an extra service that we provide. When we attempted to refund you your deposit you refused and even attempted to extort the representative by telling her to send you at least $1,000.00 - $5,000.00 to resolve this. On a recorded line you expressed that you have no intentions of resolving this if we didn't give into your demands.

We apologize for the inconvenience, we believe we have done everything we can on our end to resolve this matter.

Long-distance move from Raleigh, NC to Delray Beach, FL

Making moving great again.

My husband and I have never moved before. We both just graduated from NC State and got a job at Delray Medical. We put our name in to get moving quotes and the companies started calling. United Movers Group was one of the few who quoted by cubic feet and the only company to show me the Department of Transportation website and explain it. Now they definitely weren't the least expensive but the prices a couple companies told me seemed too good to be true. I decided on United Movers because how many years they were in business and how many trucks they had. I booked the move 2 months in advance and they went over my boxes a few days before our move. The day of the move they killed it I felt like they were being overprotective but hey that was okay with me. They told me they could be in Delray in five days. They also told me that I have to pay less than half my delivery balance because they over estimated us. Four days later they told me they would be at my new house in Delray. They took everything off and set it up just how I wanted it. I tipped them and I'm so happy that I'm not a horror story.

Total Moving Estimate - Don't Believe It!!

Do not believe any moving estimate this company gives you over the phone. They ask for an inventory, verbally guarantee the the estimate is high and the move will NOT cost more than the estimate. On moving day, the movers show up and tell you the move will cost THOUSANDS of dollars more than the estimate. STAY AWAY from this company. This move was for my 84 year-old mother. She is in very poor health. We were moving her from an assisted living facility. We were put in the position where we had no choice but to pay the movers $9,000 over the estimate given to us. Don't believe the "guarantee". Just stay away from this company. I feel they misrepresented themselves with me. Their sales representative completely lied to me. Just a word of recommendation - Never choose a moving company unless they come to your home and do a visual inventory of the items being moved. Do not trust these people. I will most definitely review again when my mother's belongings are delivered.

Move size: 2 Bedroom Home Service cost: $11054

Official company response

Wynona,

We are sorry for the misunderstanding.

We only guarantee rates, which is 100% true. If your rate is at $3.00 per cube, it will stay that way. However you can not expect us to charge you the same price for more items because this is space you're taking up in our truck. You scheduled a piggy back move, this means that there are other loads on this truck. If you take up more space, you will be charged for that space.

It is also true that on a recorded call you had with the sales representative, every singe item did appear on the inventory upon pick-up. You had extra items and you acknowledged you had more items on the phone when you spoke to dispatch. Not to mention you also signed the estimate that had all of the items you mentioned, and agreed to those items and only those items.

We hope this clarifies that your price increased due to the increase in inventory.

Long-distance move from Ashland, OR to Clifton, NJ

They took my money without a contract and never performed.

Don't do business with United Movers Group..They represented they were an owner/operator of a fleet of moving vans which they use exclusively to serve their customer base, when in fact they are a broker using a sales and customer service boiler room which apparently represents multiple moving group brokers, using multiple phone numbers. Their sales person assured personal oversight, provided what he claimed was his personal cell phone number which he has not answered after I made many calls and left many messages, apparently to build unjustified customer confidence, but instead took my money and disappeared. United ignored multiple emails and were allegedly busy every time I called and never returned calls. Their staff in customer service were the most rude and unprofessional service personnel I have ever encountered. Once they take your money they have accomplished their objective and avoid being responsive. They caused considerable damage to me and my family and executed what feels like a well-crafted scam. Over an extended period their nonperformance caused me to have to pay my landlord for overstaying my lease and I ultimately had to hire a different mover. Don't trust United Movers Group..they will take your money, not perform, and waste a lot of your time.
In summary United removed money from my bank account, never provided a contract, didn't show up after scheduling numerous pick ups, were unable or unwilling to reschedule a pickup and merely stated they would call.
I am going to file several complaints against them with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, American Moving & Storage Association, Better Business Bureau, and file a well-deserved lawsuit against them including each bad actor in their individual capacities.

SUGGESTION
Work with a real owner/operator who is responsible for their fleet and drivers and has professional customer service rather than a broker like United Movers Group and save yourself a lot of pain. A broker like them has no control over schedule of availability, quality of service, or any other element of the actual move. They seek out the lowest cost provider and you will suffer.

Official company response

Hello Heidi,

We apologize for the inconvenience you believe we may have caused.

After carefully evaluating at your file, we have concluded that the reason why we couldn't pick-up your move is because you cancelled it after multiple attempts to pick you up.

Nevertheless, we are and will always be a carrier, we do not service our moves with other companies because we have more than enough trucks to service any move we book.

I'm not comprehending what falsely slandering our name is going to do for you, we did everything we could to service your move.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation regarding this matter.

Long-distance move from Davenport, IA to Spokane, WA

Moving.

United Movers Group are the worst movers I have ever had. My husband did 30 in the military and we moved over 13 times. This is the first time we had to pay for the move. First they meaning Brian Kelly gives you a quote and it sounds good you go through every room with him and he quoted me $14,0000 but would give me a deal if I did a piggy back and the price went down to $10,000 which I thought was about what it should be to move. Well then another guy calls from United Movers Group and we go over the inventory again, Brian had missed and added things that were not on my original quote, so now the cost is going to be $15,000, we had already bought a house at our new location and needed to move so we were on the hook. Brain Kelly also went into a big spiel about they owned their own trucks and the own drivers.
Well then came the day to pack up, the driver calls and said he can’t make until the day after the original set date, told him we already had everything in place to leave and shut off our utilities. So he said he could be at my house at 1100 on the original day. Well of course that did not happen, he arrived around 2 pm that day. Also there were contract packers who did not work for United and have to say they were the best of the bunch. The main guy Avi stayed on his phone all day talking to his ex wife and did not help pack at all. Well as you have figure out they could not pack and load all in one day, so we spent the night in the hotel and came to get packed in the morning. Once my stuff was on the truck then I was hit with another outrages cost, it was going to cost $28,000, he said I had to o any dishes. First of all they did not bring a moving truck they brought a rental truck from who knows where. He said is was 2800 cubic square feet and all must stuff fit. So figure what they told me was $6.50 per cubic square feet would be $18,200 so in fact they over charged me more. Then Avi swore up and down that if I paid cash the 70% because they are a fly by night operation you had to pay in cash or a money transfer that they would deliver my stuff by the following Monday, well almost 4 weeks later my stuff was finally deliver. Was once again told must pay in cash the 1/3 remaining or they would not unload. Talk about holding your stuff hostage. I could buy a whole house full of furniture for what they charged me. In the end, I had broken stuff, missing stuff and only two people to unload my stuff, who were contractors. They showed up in a rental truck with a Wal-Mart bed. Once again Brian and Frank (owner) both lied about using their own trucks their own drivers. I would not recommend this company. Stick with the big ones Mayflower, Allied etc.
From a very disgruntle customer.

Long-distance move from California to Washington

Move from California to Washington State.

After retiring selling our home and spending over 1 year looking for a new home and purchasing that home, the most stressful part was dealing with the moving process.

I can understand that the estimating process can be a little hard on their side but with all of our belongings in storage the estimate of $9,400.00 climbed to $14,700.00 including a $400.00 charge for tape and packing materials which was never disclosed to be an additional charge.

The worst part of the deal was the number of items broken and damaged. I did all my own packing using nearly entirely new heavy duty boxes, but still many broken items. Not sure of the cause of the broken items but many of the boxes had gaping holes in the side. Nearly every piece of furniture had some type of scratch or dent. One antique double tiered table had the top tier crushed. Probably a $300.00 item would be me a refund of about $18.00 since their insurance coverage is 0.60 cents per pound. We also had a nearly new metal bed head and foot board that was scratched on the TOP of all four posts. I can only assume that the bed frames were stored or transported upside down, but the way they were strapped to the outside of the first transport truck gives me some idea of the business ethics of the company as a whole.
